About Linda

Hello! I’m Linda Brackin. Welcome to my site.

This site is my home-on-the-web for my clinical therapy and life coaching practice. Offline, I maintain a home office in Greenville, Delaware, near Route 100 North. This area is known as the Chateau Country of Northern Delaware.

I’ve been a practicing clinical Mental Health Professional since 1968. I’m a licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been in private practice for over 20 years. I hold a Master’s degree from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Science and Social Research. In addition to providing individual, family, and relationship counseling, I also facilitate groups and workshops that meet at my home office or in various community wellness centers.

In addition to clinical therapy, I’m a trained Life Coach. Life coaching allows me to draw from many healing modalities and techniques that I’ve practiced through my 40 years of clinical experience. I’ve also had the pleasure of broadening my client base to include clients from around the U.S. and internationally, who I work with over the phone.

Throughout my work as a Therapist and Life Coach, I emphasize the central role of meaning and purpose in developing personal well-being, personal spirituality and a well-lived life. Mindfulness is an important personal practice for me and I embrace the privilege of being a guide for others who deeply intend an integration of mindfulness skills in their own lives.

Like everyone, I’ve had my share of life challenges, all of which have added to my wisdom and to my ability to be compassionate and empathetic. I’ve had an even greater share of life blessings, which have enriched my sense of gratitude. I enjoy and, through my work with clients, model a practice I call sustainable happiness.

My clients find great value in an assessment tool I use called the VIA Signature Character Strengths Survey, which measures a person’s character strengths within a field of 24 character strengths. My top five Signature Strengths are (in order): Gratitude; Goodness (Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence); Capacity To Love and Be Loved; Fairness, Equity, and Justice, and Perspective (Wisdom).

In my personal time, I like to savor the natural beauty of Northern Delaware (think rolling hills and rich rural character), surf the web to learn more about livable tree houses (truly! it’s a fascination of mine), or play tennis. If it’s a quiet moment, you may find me curled up with a work by one of my favorite authors — maybe a Martha Sinetar, a Richard Bach, or a Jodi Picoult.

I’m glad you’re here and I hope you find what you’re looking for here on my site.
